STOCKHOLM – Geneva C. Forsman, 90, beloved wife of the late Simon N. Forsman died Oct. 2, 2005, at a Caribou healthcare facility after a long illness. She was born May 12, 1915, in Stockholm, the daughter of Edwin and Alma (Johanson) Wik. A life-long Stockholm resident she was a farm wife for more than 30 years and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Stockholm where she served as church pianist, choir director and financial secretary for many years. Music was an extremely important part of her life. She was a piano teacher and played organ and accordion as well. Her other hobbies were knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, as well as cooking for company. She is survived by two sons, Charles R. Forsman and his wife, Diane, of Stockholm and Galen L. Forsman and his wife, Rita, of Stockholm; eight grandchildren, Brenda Zeigler, Brian Forsman, Nathan Forsman, Nada Forsman, Jamie Forsman, Kevin Forsman, Kurt Forsman and Keith Forsman; 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins including a very special cousin and best friend, Chester Akerson and his wife, Arlene, of Perham. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years along with five children, Larry D. Forsman, Phillis Forsman, Phillip Forsman, Iona Forsman, Priscilla Forsman. Family and friend may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. Funeral Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Stockholm, with the Rev. John Walsh, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Stockholm Cemetery, Stockholm. In lieu of flowers donations in Geneva’s memory may be made to the First Baptist Church of Stockholm, Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at both the funeral home and the church.
