LEWISTON – Mrs. Genevieve R. “Rae” Labbe, 58, of Winter Street, Auburn, died early Sunday morning Dec. 25, 2005, at d’Youville Pavilion, with family at her side following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 12, 1947, in Howland, a daughter of Armand and Virginia (Mace) Saucier. She was educated in Howland schools, graduated from Howland High School and then shortly thereafter, moved to the Lewiston-Auburn community and remained a resident ever since. Rae first worked for several years in the Bates Mill, but later became a registered CNA and then a medical technician and made a career in the medical and health services fields. Until her illness, she spent the last several years as a social worker for Androscoggin Home Care Respite. She enjoyed cooking very much, but above all else, she loved her family and devoted herself to them and to helping others as she was very giving of herself to everyone. She leaves her husband, Richard Labbe of Auburn; a daughter, Nicole Labbe and her significant other, Charlie Bachelder, of Leeds; six sons, Mike Labbe of Auburn, Scott Labbe and wife, Amy, of Greene, Dana Labbe of Auburn, Mr. and Mrs. Derek Labbe of Auburn, Dale Labbe and fiance, Adrianne Rioux, of Mechanic Falls and John Labbe and fiance, Jessica Martin, of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren, Amber, Curtis, Shaun, Olivia, Hannah and Alyssa Labbe, Christopher, Chelsea and Colby Bachelder and Gage, Evan, Keira and Karly Labbe; three sisters, Lynn Fish and husband, Jeff, of Edinburg, Sue Dorr and husband, Paul, of Deer Isle and Terry Thibodeau and husband, Jean, of West Enfield; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. Thursday followed by a funeral service at the funeral home.
