GENEVIEVE ROSE SALVATO OLD TOWN – Genevieve R. (Bouchard) Salvato, 77, wife of Michael C. Salvato, died Dec. 24, 2003, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 4, 1926, in Milford, the daughter of John and Marie Elizabeth (Bishop) Bouchard. Genevieve was an active communicant of Holy Family Parish, member of the Daughters of Isabella, served on the Parish Luncheon Committee, and worked in the Holy Family Thrift Shop. She retired from the University of Maine Mailroom after 30 years of service. She also volunteered for the Meals for Me program and the Brownie and Girl Scout programs. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Michael C. Salvato of Old Town; a daughter, Dianne Gallant and her husband, Alfred, of Milford; a son, Michael Salvato and his wife, Brenda, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Michael Hildreth and his fianc?e, Reese, Stephen Hildreth and his wife, Shylani; stepgrandchildren Matt Gallant, Josh Gallant, Rob Gallant and his wife, Rumi; great-grandchildren, Tori and Logan Hildreth, Tommy and Ashley Hildreth; stepgreat-grandchildren, Andrew Goss and J.J. Gallant; seven sisters, Pauletta Van Horn, June St. Clair, Betty Michaud and her husband, Francis, Marguerite Easler and her husband, Guy, Patricia Kane and her husband, Walter, Claudette Townsend and her husband, John, Ramona Gallant and her husband, Paul; a brother, Frank Bouchard and his wife, Diane; a sister-in-law, Lena Bouchard; sadly missed by special friends, Vivian Lawrence, Doris Cossette, and Carroll Clukey; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Leo Bouchard, Joseph Bouchard and his wife, Joan, Robert Bouchard; and a sister, Esther St. Heart. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 noon Saturday at Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Normand Richard, celebrant. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Immediately following the Mass all are invited to the Parish Center for continued fellowship and a light luncheon.
