GEORGE E. LABELLE SR. ARGYLE – George E. LaBelle Sr., 77, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Old Town, son of the late Eugene and Mary Artimise (Veineo) LaBelle. George enjoyed fishing, hunting and faithfully watched the nightly news that he very rarely missed. He was self-employed owning and operating LaBelle’s Drywall for many years. George enjoyed the Christmas season and loved spending those days with his family. George is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Marilyn (Coughlin) of Argyle; eight children: daughter, Mary Young and her husband, Charles Sr. of Alton; son, George Jr. of Argyle; son, Lester and his wife, Debbie, of Alton; son, Charlie and his wife, JoAnn, of Patten; daughter, Deanna Dunn and her husband, Larry, of Argyle; and son, Bruce LaBelle of Glenburn; a brother, Eugene Jr. of Burlington; six sisters, Helen Gipson, Dot Goodwin, both of Burlington, Maryann Harding of Lowell, Jeannette Flemming of Lincoln, Gloria Baker of LaGrange, and Louise Cormier of Union; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Robert and Steven; six brothers, Leo, Louis, Alfred, Walter, Clarence and Alex; two sisters, Rose and Lillian. Friends may call 4 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a Celebration of Life will be conducted 6 p.m. with the Rev.
