GENEVIEVE PATTERSON ‘GEN’ HAMPDEN – Genevieve Laura (Richardson) Patterson, 79, wife of the late Ralph W. Patterson Sr., passed away Jan. 9, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born in Bangor, March 18, 1924, the daughter of William W. Richardson Sr. and Catharine (Ware) Richardson. Gen was a graduate of Bangor High School and had worked at Sylvania in Bangor. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Brian and his wife, Juanita, of Hampden, Ralph “Buddy” and his wife, Brenda, of Holden, Daniel of Hampden; and a daughter, Catherine Garnett and her husband, David, of Old Town; one brother, William Richardson Jr. of Whitefish, Mont.; a sister, Marilyn Dahl, of Anchorage, Alaska; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one aunt, Virginia Lanigan of Kennebunk; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Ralph, in 1989; a daughter, Janice Schnedler; and a brother, Kenneth Richardson. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Monday, at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 70 Western Ave., Hampden. Interment in the springtime will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden.
