MONTICELLO – George Hutchinson, 94, died Feb. 11, 2005, at Houlton Regional Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1910, in Monticello, the second eldest son of George and Mae (McPherson) Hutchinson. His vocation was in agriculture. He operated his dairy farm in the 40’s and 50’s and was engaged in potato farming until his retirement in 1975. George was employed with C.W. Staples of Presque Isle as a salesman of chemicals for 20 years. George was an active member of the Community Weslyan Church in Monticello where he served as past deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and adult class teacher. George is survived by his wife of 45 years, Vera (Stitham) Hutchinson of Monticello; a son, David and wife, Linda; daughter, Debra and husband, Rick Crawford, of Cedar Hill, Tenn.; three grandsons, Matthew, Garrett, and Brandt Crawford; many nieces and nephews and friends. George was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Ella (Cowperthwaite) Hutchinson; four sisters; Orpha Jones, Alta Lowery, Velma Wotton and Vera Nichols; and four brothers, Charles, Malcolm, Merle and John. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, at the Monticello Community Wesleyan Church in Monticello with Pastor Jeremiah Gomez officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the church 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
