KENDUSKEAG – George M. Lugdon, 83, the husband of Charlotte (Clark) Lugdon, died May 14, 2007, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. He was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Greenbush, the son of George A. and Laura (Mitchell) Lugdon. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific with the 152 Field Artillery. He was a member of the Corinth Post No. 115, American Legion. George was an outdoorsman who liked to camp, fish, hunt and trap. He had retired as a member of the Kenduskeag Fire Department, which he helped organize and where he served as fire chief for 17 years. Also, he served as town forest fire warden for 27 years and had directed the Samaritan Food Cupboard for five years. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 62 years, are his daughter, Margaret Call of Bangor; his sons, Ernest and wife, Linda, of South Bristol and Edgar and wife, Marion, of Eagle Lake; a sister, Delta Hankins of Deland, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends may call 10 a.m. Thursday until time of services 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, with Pastor Ruth Guerette officiating. Burial will be at Kenduskeag Cemetery. The family invites relatives and friends to join them at Kenduskeag Union Church after the service for a time of refreshment and fellowship.
