PATTEN – George T. Peterson, 78, died Dec. 22, 2007, in Bangor. He was born May 6, 1929, in Bronx, N.Y., the son of Harry and Bertha (Jagillky) Peterson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Catherine (Monsky) Peterson of Patten; three children, Diane Valentine of New York, Robert Peterson of North Carolina and Daniel Peterson of Alaska; four grandchildren, Karen Shipp, Rachel Smith, Jillian Sloss and Kelly Valentine; one great-grandson, Jacob Smith; three sisters, Bea Foley, Lillian Boos, both of Virginia and Margaret Popham of New York; several nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, William and Edward; and a sister, Dorothy Villar. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls. Funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family in New York at a later date.
