BAR HARBOR – George “Tom” T. Bowden Jr., 95, died Aug. 16, 2006, at a Bar Harbor health care facility. He was born Jan. 14, 1911, in Bangor, the son of George Thomas and Grace (Moore) Bowden. Tom was an educator in several schools in Connecticut and served as principal of Emerson Elementary School for many years. He was an avid gardener and a caretaker for several summer estates. He was a member of Church of Our Father, Hulls Cove. Tom is survived by three sons, G. Thomas Bowden III and wife, Jackie, Paul D. Bowden and his companion, Kari, all of Bar Harbor and Adrien Bowden of Lamoine; four grandchildren, David Bowden, Julie Hall, Elizabeth Murray and Taelor Bowden; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Olga Bowden. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor, with the Rev. Chuck Bradshaw officiating.
