SPRINGFIELD – George W. “Kingpin” King, 75, wife of the late Mary E. (Worster) King, died Jan. 25, 2007, at Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born July 3, 1931, in Blue Hill, the son of Edna (Scott) Drohan. George was a devoted husband to his wife, Mary, and a very loving father. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and had been a member of the VFW in Mattawamkeag. He was widely known by his CB handle, “Kingpin.” An avid sportsman, he loved to go fishing, and was very proud to have shot an eight point buck last fall. He is survived by three daughters, Leigh Ann King of Bangor, Brenda Millett of Lincoln and Priscilla Rhine of Bangor; a grandson, Shaughn Millett of Lincoln; a sister, Jackie Fox of Albion; and a brother, Rick Drohan of Beverly Hills, Fla. He also leaves a very special lady friend, Joyce Tozier. In addition to his mother and his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Agnes Aldrich; and a brother, Joseph Drohan. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Tucker Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
