EAST MILLINOCKET – George W. “Billy” Nelson, 43, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 22, 1963, in Bangor, the son of George E. and Pauline (Pelkey) Nelson. Billy was a graduate of Schenck High School and Eastern Maine Technical College. He worked at Great Northern Paper Company Recycle Plant in East Millinocket for many years until he became ill. Billy enjoyed the outdoors and spent many times camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. Billy loved his family and was especially fond of his one and only niece, Courtney. Billy would always tease Courtney and she enjoyed all of those times. He is survived by his mother, Pauline of East Millinocket; three sisters, Susan Nelson, Judith and husband, Phil Perry and their daughter Courtney, all of East Millinocket and Cynthia Nelson of Norfolk, Va. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Della and Bud Morrow of Kittery, Ida Mucha of New Britain, Conn., William and Bess Pelkey of Littleton, Ga., and Linda Pelkey of Medway; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father, George E. Nelson. Billy was a warm and kind person and, because of this, he also leaves behind many, many dear friends. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at R. L. Bouchard, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 1, at the First Congregational Church of East Millinocket. The services will be officiated by Pastor Andrew MacLeod.
