OLD TOWN – Georgena Helen Louise Young, 76, died March 23, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 21, 1922, in Stonington, the daughter of Llewellyn and Juanita (Larrabee) Gross. Gena liked to read but her real interest was hunting around the country side looking for treasures at yard sales. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Veral D. Young; a son, Clifford Shepard and wife, Belinda, of Hudson; seven daughters, Sharon Shepard and Bob Ayotte of Old Town, Mary Ellen Campbell and husband, Paul, of Orono, Brenda Ellis and husband, Richard, of Alton, Robin Ross of Hermon; twins Cynthia Jarvis of Old Town and Patricia Kong of California, Ena Andriotis and husband, Chris, of Old town; a sister, Mary Spear of Phoenix, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, with another expected to arrive in November and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gena will be sadly missed by her loving dogs, Daisy and Ally. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Brookings-Smith, Old Town Chapel, 205 Main St., Old Town, with the Rev. Ron Libby, pastor of Souls Harbor Ministries, officiating. Interment will be in the spring at West Old Town Cemetery, Old Town.
