PALMYRA – Gerald B. Booth, 79, died Jan. 24, 2005, at a Dexter healthcare facility following a long illness. He was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Newport the son of Edwin D. and Muriel (Parker) Booth. He attended Newport schools and was a graduate of Newport High School. Gerald was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. Gerald married Dorothy T. Hazuka July 12, 1951, in New York City. He was a textile worker for most of his working life. He was employed in local woolen mills in Corinna and Pittsfield. Gerald loved the outdoors especially while hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy T. Booth of Palmyra; one son, Paul G. Booth of South Portland; one brother, William Booth of Pittsfield; one sister, Virene DeBeck of Skowhegan, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Two sisters Muriel and Marie predeceased him. Graveside committal services will be conducted in the spring at the family lot Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport.
