MILFORD – Gerald C. “Buster” McIver Jr., 55, died Sept. 15, 2004, at his residence. He was born July 17, 1949, in Houlton, the son of Gerald C. McIver Sr. and Sylvia (Littlefield) Nutter. He was a member of Old Town Elks Lodge No. 1287 of Old Town. He loved bingo, fishing and hunting. He drove chip truck for 20 years for Diamond/James River Corp., where he was one of two drivers to receive recognition for the Million Mile Driving Award. He received a Safety Award for driving 20 years without an accident. He then went to work for Maine Chips in Old Town in 1995 until illness forced his retirement on Dec. 4, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Butters) McIver of Milford; his father, Gerald C. McIver Sr. of Houlton; a daughter, Brenda Brochu of Virginia; two stepsons, Jeremy D. Spencer of Milford, Matthew Spencer and his wife, Helen, of North Carolina; a granddaughter, Amber Rae of Maine. He was predeceased by his mother. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at the United Baptist Church of Old Town, with the Rev. Bruce Stevens, officiating.
