CARMEL – Gerald Lee Verrill, 73, died Jan. 25, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 21, 1930, in Carmel, the son of Wilson T. and Clara M. (McPherson) Verrill. Gerald served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member for many years of the Benevolent Lodge No. 87 A.F. & A. M. in Carmel, and the Anah Shriners. Gerald was a member of the Good Sam Camping Club and the American Legion Post No. 107 Carmel. He worked for 42 years in many different departments of Webber Energy Fuels. Gerald enjoyed working in his later year’s part time for his nephew Mark Verrill at Bangor Truck and Tractor in Hermon. He also loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet (Bridgham) Verrill; a son, Thomas Verrill; and companion, Lucy Henderson of Carmel; a daughter, Patricia Kneeland and husband, Donald, of Carmel; a brother, Desmond Verrill and wife, Nellie, of Brewer; a sister, Mary Garland and husband, Everett, of Carmel; two grandchildren, Lisa Bishop and husband, Cary Jr., Trevor Kneeland and companion, Samantha Brown; two great-grandchildren, Zoye Bishop and Tesa Kneeland; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several brothers. Friends are invited to call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Masonic services being held at 6:15 p.m. with the Benevolent Lodge No. 87, A.F. & A.M., presiding. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Burt D. Williams, Pastor of the Carmel Union Congregation Church, officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Highland Cemetery, Carmel. Those who wish to remember Gerald in a special way may make gifts to the Square & Compass Club, P.O.
