FORT FAIRFIELD – Mrs. Geraldine J. Boulier, 78, wife of the late Elden S. “Cook” Boulier, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 28, 2004, at her Fort Fairfield residence, after an extended illness. She was born Christmas Day, 1925, at Kilburn, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Oscar L. and Iva B. (Wortman) DeMerchant. She moved to Fort Fairfield as a young girl and attended local schools. Geraldine was married to Elden S. “Cook” Boulier on Feb. 17, 1944 and was employed by Potato Service, Presque Isle, as a supervisor for eight years and also worked at the A & P Processing Plant, Fort Fairfield, for three years. She was a devoted wife for 50 years and was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother. She will always be remembered as a kind and giving person to all that knew her. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Boulier was predeceased by one son, Roger Boulier. She is survived by three sons, Brian Boulier and his wife, Jutta, of Bangor, Dale Boulier and his wife, Sharon, of Vinegrove, Ky., Brent Boulier of Brewer; three daughters, Linda Brouette and her husband, Jerry, of Titusville, Fla., Sandra Thornton and her special friend, Omar Butler, Lisa Boulier, all of Fort Fairfield; three brothers, Winston DeMerchant of Hallisburg, N.C., Donald DeMerchant of Texas, Derald DeMerchant of Terryville, Conn.; four sisters, Pearl Burns and Avis DeMerchant, both of Fort Fairfield, Beryl Hill and her husband, Ben, of Auburn, Ala., Shirley Bodecker of Waterloo, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by a special sister-in-law, Mary Shaw and special friends, Linda White and Betty Everett. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a Memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. with the pastor John Bateman officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of fellowship with refreshments will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately following the interment service.
