DEXTER – Gertrude E. McLaughlin, 88, died March 30, 2006, at a Scarborough nursing home. She was born May 13, 1917, in Brooksville, the daughter of Lewis and Iva (Snow) Black. She was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church, the O.E.S., and was a 7th degree member of the Grange. She is survived by three daughters, Anne Crowley of Carmel, Rose Stocker of Exeter, and Sally Campbell of Portland; a sister, Mary Snow of South Penobscot; two brothers, Ernest Black, and Richard Black both of Brooksville; a daughter-in-law, Fran McLaughlin of South Carolina; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur F. McLaughlin; a son, Robert McLaughlin; a grandson, Allen Crowley; three brothers, Archie Black, William Black and Robert Black; two sisters, Arlena Ladd and Madelyn Harding. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at the Dexter United Methodist Church, with Pastor Lois Field officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
