ROCKWOOD – Gertrude H. Theriault, 85, died peacefully May 30, 2004, surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Rockwood, the daughter of Flora and John King. She devoted her whole life to raising her family. She enjoyed canning and gardening and also spending winters in Florida with her husband, Wilfred. She was the youngest and last surviving child from a family of 18. She is survived by three sons, Albert and his wife, Alice, of Rockwood, Russell and his wife, Debbie, of Jackman, Donald “Ducky” and his wife, Linda, of Rockwood; three daughters, Catherine of East Hartford, Conn., Melissa “Peachy” and her husband, Stephen, of Greenville, Everlyn and her husband, Abe, of North Windham; two sons-in-law, Cyril Roy of East Hartford, Conn. and Arthur Weeks of Portsmouth, R.I.; daughter-in-law, Julie Theriault of Rockwood; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Clarence and Robert Theriault; and two daughters, Flora Roy and Marie Weeks. A time of visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004, at McCrory Funeral Home in Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Church in Rockwood. Burial will be in the family lot at the St. Joseph’s Church in Rockwood.
