SHERMAN – Glenda Gadbois, 79, died June 12, 2005, at Houlton. She was born March 22, 1926, in Sherman, the daughter of Raymond and Pauline (St. John) Cox. Each time you think about Meme, remember how her faith inspired her to maintain meaningful relationships with family and friends. Meme shared so many wonderful experiences with her grandchildren. Everyone was welcome to her home and her homemade cooking can’t be duplicated as hard as one tries! She took both pride and joy in her home and its surroundings. If she had to leave you with a few thoughts, they would include the following: accept life’s challenges and make the most of them, don’t give up until you have accomplished what you have set out to do, if you make a mistake, learn from it, take time for family and friends, work hard but be sure to have fun with those around you, and smile. If you get a chance, look for a red cardinal, her favorite bird, and be sure to make your own bread! She is survived by three children, Beverly and her husband, Randy Cullins, of Sherman, Anna and her husband, Joe Feeney, of New Gloucester and Ray Gadbois and Sandy Miller, of Bowdoinham; one daughter-in-law, Maria McCourt of Brunswick; six grandchildren, Michael and Beth Feeney and daughter, Kayla, all of Florida, Joshua Cullins of New York, Luke Cullins of Alaska, Ben Feeney of Virginia, Adam and Cory Gadbois of Maine; one brother, Clyde “Buzz” and his wife, Joan Cox, of Eddington; and one sister, Verda Keene of Brewer; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Cox of Island Falls and Madelynne Cox of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and God children, Carol Wolf of Massachusetts, Luanne Crinon of Brunswick and Mike Barnett of Silver Ridge; and close friends, Rita and Evelyn. Glenda was predeceased by her husband, Stanley. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Benedicta, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Father Richard Malo, celebrating. Interment will be in the Sherman Mills Cemetery. The family requests that donations in her memory be sent to Houlton Regional Hospital Skilled Unit, Katahdin Elementary School library fund, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 579, Houlton, ME 04730.
