NEWPORT – Grace Evelyn (McFarland) Larsen, 72, was born May 10, 1935, to Norris and Orrilla (Knowles) McFarland in Corinna. After a period of declining health, Gracie pas-sed from this life to the next to be with our Lord Jan. 5, 2008. She attended Corinna schools and graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1954. She married and raised three children in the Newport area. She spent many years working at Shorettes Diner, Newport and also work-ed as a certified nurses aide at Sebasticook Valley Hospital, Pittsfield. In 1979, she moved west to California and met the man of her dreams, Spencer Larsen. They worked together for many years at McDonald Douglas, Long Beach, Calif. They retired and moved back to Maine to be with family. She was a member of Barrows-Skidgel Post American Legion Auxiliary, Newport. Gracie was predeceased by her first husband, Carlston Hudson; and is survived by her present husband and love of her life, Spencer of Newport; one brother, Fred and wife, Beverly McFarland, of Dexter; her three children, Debra Hudson Lovley and husband, Gregory Lovley, of Newport, Scott Hudson and wife, Lynn Hudson, of Plymouth and David Hudson of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, Jason Lovley and wife, Kim, of Carmel and Breeanna Lovley of Lake Worth, Fla. She is also survived by her husband’s children, Steven Larsen and wife, Janice, of Florida and Linda Larsen of California; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Nicholas and Ava Grace Lovley of Carmel. Gracie was also a special grammie to Christian Gregory Brown of Hartland, Jackie Cook of Etna, Amy Butts and her husband, Donald, and great-grammie to their children, Drew and Isaac, all of Carmel; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends. The family wants to especially thank Carol Gray and Mary Thompson. In accordance with her wishes, private visitation will be held at Crosby & Neal, Newport. A spring graveside funeral and committal service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating.
