SHERMAN – Robert P. Gould died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at home after a long illness. Bob was born Feb. 15, 1928, to Percy E. Gould and Gladys (Dearborn) Gould. He was a member and former master of Molunkus Masonic Lodge No. 165. He was also a member of Molunkus Fish and Game Club and an active member of Molunkus Valley Snowmobile Club. He was a former selectman for the town of Sherman. Bob enjoyed farming, ice fishing, snowmobiling and especially loved tapping maple trees and making syrup with his special friend, Peter Baker. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie (Dunbar) Gould; his children, Diane McQuarrie of Macon, Ga., Elizabeth O’Roak and husband, Clayton, of Orrington, Steve Gould and wife, Sandra, of Winslow and Kirk Gould of Sherman, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brother, Gene Gould; and sisters, Glen-na Hejduk and Eljah Merry, all of Sherman. He was predeceased by his brothers, Keith and Bruce; and sister, Gladys Burgess; as well as grandchildren, Robbie and Christina Gould. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice, especially Diane Lane, Terry Lyons, Karen Umphrey and Nora Gardiner for their care and support. A memorial service will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Washburn Memorial Church, Sherman. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
