WINTER HARBOR – Granville “Randy” H. Follett, 84, died Feb. 14, 2007, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, the son of John and Pearl (DeLong) Follett. Granville was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the European theater of World War II and two tours in the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal for his service. He had been a member of a tank battalion and enjoyed the reunions which were held every two years. He had retired from active service, after more than 20 years, in 1965. He then went to work at the Winter Harbor Naval Station, retiring in 1976. He was a life member of the Winter Harbor Lodge No. 192 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Anah Shrine of Bangor and Hancock County Shrine Club. He is survived by a daughter, Pearl F. Barto and husband, Roger; grandsons, Jacob H. Barto and James C. Barto, all of Winter Harbor; uncle and aunt, Thomas and Phyllis Follett of Augusta; sister-in-law, Lois Crowley of Corea; special friend, Elaine Smith of Ellsworth. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Agnes Feb. 24, 1970; and son, Richard Follett Oct. 10, 1971. A spring graveside service will be announced and held at Brookside Cemetery, Winter Harbor.
