GREGORY KENNETH GAGNON LEVANT – Gregory Kenneth Gagnon, 47, entered the gates of heaven Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, surrounded by loving family and friends at a Bangor hospital. Greg was born Aug. 5, 1961, in Van Buren, the son of Albert and Jeannette (Beaudoin) Gagnon. He was a well-known, self-employed contractor doing business as Gagnon Construction with his son, Jared Gagnon, also of Levant, who will continue what his Dad taught him. Greg was a hard working man who could tackle any task while “keeping it simple.” One of his favorite places to be was in the woods on the seat of his tractor, with his dog, Simon, at his side. On Sept. 4, 2004, his marriage to Karen E. (Goodwin) completed him. On Gasoline Alley they shared a love like no other and with their blended family they built a “patchwork quilt,” that is the strongest blanket ever made. Surviving are his wife, Karen; his son, Jared G. Gagnon and his girlfriend, Monica Gallant; stepdaughter, Jamie L. Martin, all of Levant; stepsons, Christopher W. Horwood of Salem, Mass., and Ryan M. Williams and his fiancee, Laura L. Lawrence, of Hermon; his loving mother, Jeannette; his sisters and brothers, Linda Arnold and her husband, Edwin, Tammy Roy and her husband, Rob, Tom Gagnon and his wife, Donna, John Gagnon, James Gagnon and his wife, Roxane, and Madonna Hamel and her husband, Tim, all of Levant; granddaughter, Sophi Williams; his nieces and nephews, Michelle Pullen and her husband, Brent, and their children, Madison and Brock, Matt Arnold, Jenna Arnold, Tiffany Roy, Joshua Roy, Katie Dunlop and Andrew Hamel, all of Levant, Ryan Goodwin and his wife, Sarah, and their children, Joey, Jake and Ethan of Grayslake, Ill., Heather Viele, Mark Goodwin and Hillary Goodwin, all of Argyle, N.Y.; two very special brothers-in-law, Larry Goodwin and his wife, Donna, of Levant and David Goodwin and his wife, Cindy, of Argyle, N.Y.; best friend, Donald Preston of Levant, and all of his other very special friends, who touched his life inside and outside of his garage. Predeceased by his dad, Albert Gagnon, July 5, 2002, together they soar with Eagles Wings. The family would like to thank the rescue teams, life-flight and the staff of Eastern Maine Medical Center, who gave Greg special care. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2 p.m. Thursday at Gasoline Alley, Levant. Those wishing may join a procession which will begin approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gasoline Alley to Waugh Cemetery, Levant, where a graveside service will be held 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Newcomb officiating. In lieu of flowers, a tree planting ceremony will be scheduled. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
