LITTLETON and HOULTON – Greta M. Ramsdell, 97, died Oct. 6, 2005, at a local healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 22, 1907, at Monticello, the daughter of Horace C. and Respa (Frazier) Porter. Greta was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church and a former member of the Portia Rebekah Lodge No. 78. She was a cook at the lunch counter of F.W. Woolworth Company for 20 years where she made many friends. She is survived by one son, James E. Rush and his wife, Jeanette, of Southington, Conn.; daughter-in-law, Betty Rush of East Millinocket; four grandchildren, James L. Rush, Karen Rush, David C. Rush, Patricia Ann Smith; two step-grandchildren, Michael LeFay and his wife, Judy, Renee Belanger and her husband, Brian; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Regina Brewer of Saco, Jeanette Bethune of Biloxi, Miss.; three brothers, Byron Porter of Veazie, Merval C. Porter and his wife, Daisey, of Bar Harbor, Galen Porter and his wife, Helena, of Island Falls; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Ramsdell, in 1996; one son, Nathan Rush; two brothers, James A. Porter and Russell F. Porter. Friends may call noon Monday until time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ellen Cleaves and the Rev. Naomi Sam ‘Kpakra officiating at Dunn Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Littleton Cemetery.
