GUILFORD and LAKE CHARLES, La. – Grover Charles Stroud, 81, hus-band of Marian (Pellerin) Stroud, died Sept. 30, 2004, at a Bangor hospital, after a long battle with heart disease. He was born Jan 1, 1923, in Lake Charles, La., the son of Grover Cleveland and Dolly (Maricle) Stroud. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II with Company L, 112th Infantry. He had also retired from Magnolia Marketing Company of Lafayette, La. He volunteered with RSVP and Mended Hearts at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, and was an avid supporter of McNeese State Cowboy football. Grover is survived by his wife, Marian of Guilford; two sons, Mark Stroud of Dover-Foxcroft, Ronnie Bernard of Katy, Texas; six daughters, Marlene Reed of New Iberia, La., Darlene Davis of Tyler, Texas, Glenda Lovell, Linda Green, Marilyn Faulkner, and Liz Steele, all of England; a brother, Bob Stroud of Slidell, La.; and a sister, Dolly Ruth DelGreco of East Windsor, Conn. He was loved by 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with the Rev. Kenneth Dale officiating. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles, La.
