ASHLAND – Guy F. Bolstridge, 76, died Nov. 17, 2005, at his Ashland residence. He was born Nov. 3, 1929, at Portage Lake, the son of Horace “Dick” and Beulah (Bragdon) Bolstridge. As a young boy living in the Buffalo area of Portage, he was his father’s helper in running the family farm and cutting wood. He married Constance A. Berry, Aug. 20, 1957. After the birth of their sons, he moved his family to the Bangor area where he worked with his brother, Hadley, operating a gas station. In 1976, he relocated his family back to the family farm where they grew vegetables and cut wood. Guy and his sons cut wood for the Great Northern Paper Company until his retirement. Following retirement, he could be found working on tractors and maintaining the gardens he shared with his family. Many people have fond memories of Guy and his vegetable stand. Connie and Guy spent their last years living in Ashland at Forest View Circle, enjoying their grandchildren, their friends and their church. In addition to his wife, Connie of Ashland, he is survived by two sons, David Bolstridge and his wife, Shelly, of Portage Lake, Timothy Bolstridge, also of Portage Lake; five grandchildren, Jessica, Myles, Cassandra, Timmy and Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Sage and Kylee; one brother, Hadley Bolstridge of Florida; one sister, Anice Thurlow of Presque Isle. He was predeceased by one grandson, Michael Bolstridge in 2004; one brother, Sumner Bolstridge; and one sister, Beatrice Plourde. Guy’s wishes were to have no service or calling hours.
