GRAND ISLE – Guy Lizotte, 82, began his fourth day journey June 18, 2004, at the Cary hospital in Caribou. He was born May 15, 1922, in Grand Isle, the son of Onezime and Marie (Lizotte) Lizotte. He was a World War II Veteran, and a member of the Thomas O. Cyr Legion Post No. 147 of Madawaska. He loved being surrounded by his family and especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Laurette (Gendreau) Lizotte of Grand Isle; seven children, Patsy Ayotte and her husband, Patrick, of Madawaska, Angela Soucy and her husband, Gerald, of Grand Isle, Joyce Deschaine and her husband, Philip Jr., of St. David, Gene Lizotte and his wife, Sharon, of St. Agatha, Carol Floyd and her husband, Eugene, of El Paso, Texas, James Lizotte and his wife, Dedra, of Van Buren, Alan Lizotte and his wife, Tina, of Grand Isle; one sister, Clair LeBeau of Connecticut; one brother, Oneil Lizotte of St. Basile, New Brunswick; 18 grandchildren, Keith, Craig and Kevin Ayotte, Steven, Dale and Randy Soucy, Kevin and Kylie Deschaine, Trevor, Christa and Jakob Lizotte, Eugene Jr. and Crystal Floyd, Rylie and Haley Lizotte, Shane, Alisha and Chasity Lizotte; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by six sisters, Laura Taylor, Carmen Clavette, Irene Doucette, Aline Cyr, Annie Doucette and Leona Fournier; one grandson, Sam Gene Lizotte; and by two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Gerard-Mt. Carmel Church in Grand Isle, with the Rev. Msgr. Leopold Nicknair officiating. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the Daigle Funeral Home from. Interment with full military honors will be held in the Parish Cemetery.
