OTIS and BEECH HILL POND Gwen C. Franck, 48, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at her home. She was born May 12, 1959, in Millinocket, the daughter of George and Gloria (Sweet) Craig. Gwen attended Brewer High School and soon thereafter, fell in love with and married her husband, John, with whom they recently celebrated 30 years of marriage together. She adored her husband and three children, and they were always first priority. It was evident in her cooking and hospitality that she enjoyed entertaining and socializing, both in an everyday household as a homemaker or guests in her home. Holidays were her favorites, as her home was festively decorated in abundance, especially Christmas, which was her favorite. Gwen had a special love for animals, especially her two dogs, Teca and Lila. She also enjoyed the relaxation of swimming, sunbathing and boating at camp on the lake. Gwen will be remembered for her love for life and how she enjoyed just the simple things. She is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Jana Franck and her fiance, Caleb Smith and Crystal (Franck) Gordon and her husband, Jared; son, Craig Franck; mother, Gloria (Craig) Mallett and her husband, Ivan; sister, Gail Gonzales and her husband, Floyd; brother, Gary Craig and his wife, Terry, brother, Glen Craig and his wife, Mary-Lou, and brother, Garrel Craig and his wife, Judy; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, George Craig; and her in-laws, Robert and Jana Franck. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, celebrant. Private interment will be held at a later date.
