BANGOR and LINCOLN – ‘Harold “Harry” J. Casey, 42, died Dec. 7, 2006, in Carlisle, Pa., where he was undergoing training for a new job with CRST, Inc. Harry was born Aug. 1, 1964, in Bangor, the son of Charles and Diana (Eslin) Casey. Growing up, Harry was very active in Boy Scouts, obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He loved his times at Camp Roosevelt. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lincoln, where he made his first communion and was confirmed. Harry was truly a child of God. He was created by God, for God. Harry attended Lincoln schools and graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1983. He was a member of the National Honor Society. His college education was interrupted with a stint in the Army. He served in Germany and Desert Storm. While in Germany, he met and married his wife, Leila. They have a wonderful son, Charles “Chas” age 15. After his tour of duty was up, he returned to college, graduating from University of Southern Maine in 1994, cum laude. He was then employed by Time-Warner as a project manager in Portland, Milwaukee and Birmingham, Ala., where the family settled. He later headed his own successful company which specialized in installing and servicing security systems. He loved the South and warm weather, and was in the process of relocating to Florida. Some of his joys growing up were our annual camping trips to Hampton Beach, N.H., and Bar Harbor, swimming, boating and knee-boarding at the family cottage, downhill skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. He loved the Philippine Islands and spent many happy vacations there. His goal was to eventually live there. He loved the climate, the people and their laid-back life style, and they loved him and looked forward to his return. He had just returned from a six-week visit there. Harry was a perfectionist and it showed in everything he did. He was an outstanding man, always trying to do his best, making his family proud of him. Oh, how we will miss this wonderful man. Harry died as a result of a runaway vehicle leaving the highway and crashing into his car as he was getting into it in the motel parking lot.
