MILLINOCKET – Harold J. McLain Sr., 57, of Millinocket died Nov. 14, 2003, at his home with his family at his side after a long battle with cancer. He was born July 23, 1946, in Millinocket, the son of Ellery and Beatrice (Hartley) McLain Sr. He worked at GNP for 20 years and New England Outdoor Center, Northern Outdoors and ran Penobscot Outdoor Center Camp Ground and had worked construction with his sons. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved all sports. Harold is survived by his wife of 39 years, Brenda McLain of Millinocket; five children, Harold Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of Millinocket, Jessie and his wife, Kelly, McLain of Millinocket, Shannon and his wife, Christine, McLain of Millinocket, Jason and his wife, Christy McLain, of Exeter, Roxann and her husband, Matthew Lyons, of Lisbon; seven grandchildren, Chantel, Lindsey, Lacey, Cassie, Jason Jr., Chloe, Tiahna Jo; seven sisters and brothers, Donna McLaughlin of Millinocket, Frederick McLain of Lincoln, Rose Mott of Millinocket, Evelyn Pelkey of Millinocket, Ellery J. McLain Jr. of Chester, Richard McLain of Millinocket, Cindy Perry of Millinocket; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A private family service will be held at their convenience.
