BREWER – Harriette (Verrow) Clement, 87, wife of the late Francis J. Clement, died Sept. 3, 2007, at a Damariscotta health care center. She was born Jan. 7, 1920, in Brewer, the daughter of Joseph and Annie (Cyr) Verrow. Harriette was a lifelong resident of South Brewer. She was a communicant of St. Teresa’s Parish where she was active in many areas of church and community life including, teaching kindergarten and sodality. Harriette had a love and great skill for writing and was a superior cook and seamstress. Surviving are her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Diane and John White of Walpole; a grandson, Trapper John White of Portland; a foster grandchild, Sharon Green of Bangor; one sister, Lorraine McGuiness of Vermont; two nieces, Sharon Bartholomew and her husband, Dean, of Minow, N.Y., and Jean McGuiness of Australia; a child “in spirit,” Edith Young of Bangor; and a close circle of loving friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a brother, Joseph; a sister, Clotilda; and a cat companion, Dumbo. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt, pastor, celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice for the benefit of ill, abandoned or abused children.
