JONESBORO – Harris W. “Willie” Smith Jr., 59, passed away, Jan. 30, 2005, after an extended illness. He was born Nov. 19, 1945, in Jonesboro, the son of Harris W. Smith Sr. and Myrtle (Foss) Smith. Willie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. He is survived by his mother, Myrtle McLaughlin; sisters, Elsie and Eliza Jane; brothers, Raymond, Walter, Bruce, and David; daughters, Melanie and Melinda; grandchildren, Ashley, Natasha, Shayna, Jimmy Jr., Lindsey, Meghan, and Cole; special friend, Linda Stoddard; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Harris Smith Sr.; and a brother, Ira. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Great Cove Cemetery in Roque Bluff officiated by Elder John Woodman. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias.
