DIXMONT – Harry D. Depew III, 19, left this world March 2, 2006, as the result of a tragic auto accident. He was the loving son of Harry D. Depew Jr. and Cristine Depew. Harry was born Oct. 7, 1986, in Middletown, Conn., but moved to Maine with his family when he was only one month old. Maine was his home. He was a 2005 graduate of Nokomis Regional High School. Harry was in his second semester at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor, where he was a student in the Machine Tool Technology program. He was on his way to class when the accident occurred. Harry was a gentle giant who enjoyed building models. His favorites were medieval siege machines and complex LEGO models and he never lost a single piece. He also enjoyed video games, sci-fi movies and collecting movie memorabilia, especially the Godzilla series. He looked forward every year to hunting camp in November, even if he only made it out in the afternoon. Harry was very fond of all his family pets, but especially his two snakes and his dog, Blue. He leaves behind his parents; his sister, Renee A. Depew and her fiance, Brent Hicks, of Newport; two aunts Margi and Patricia Depew; four cousins, Bret, Traci, Brock and Troy Depew; his grandmother, Eloise Depew; and extended family, all of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his grandparents; and his two uncles, “Fritz” and Barry Depew. He will always be remembered for the special person he was by those who knew him best and who he cared for the most, Mr. Art from Jersey, Terry Campbell, Wayne Steller, his friends from the Newport Area and many of his teachers. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service at this time. There will be a tree planting in Harry’s memory on the Eastern Maine Community College campus this spring, exact date and time to be announced in this paper and the Rolling Thunder Express. All who wish to attend and share memories of Harry are invited to attend.
