WHITING – Harry. H. Snyder, 91, beloved husband and father, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2007, at sunrise. Harry was born May 22, 1915, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Hobart College in 1938, and was a Sigma Chi fraternity brother. Harry served in the European Theatre during World War II in the U.S. Army. An executive with Mobil Oil Co., New York City for 28 years, Harry lived in White Plains, N.Y., with his family until 1976, when he retired to Whiting. While in White Plains, he was a member of Purchase Friends Meeting House – The Quakers. In Maine, he and his wife, Audrey, founded the Cobscook Friends Meeting, Trescott. Harry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Audrey Siebert Snyder; two sons, Harry III of Whiting and Christopher of New York City; a daughter, Cora of Charlottesville, Va.; and two granddaughters. He was predeceased by a sister, Arline Snyder Pujals of Sarasota, Fla. In lieu of flowers, please donate to his favorite charity, Habitat for Humanity.
