WALTHAM – Harvey Herman Jordan, 77, died April 24, 2006, at an Ellsworth hospital after a valiant battle with emphysema for many years. He was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Waltham, the eldest son of Elliott and Marguerite (Bunker) Jordan. He attended Waltham schools and Ellsworth High School. He served in Korea during the Korean War. For several years he was employed as a mechanic by Dow Pontiac of Ellsworth. In 1959, he built and operated Jordan Brothers Garage in Waltham. Harvey was a member of Lygonia Lodge AM & FM No. 40, Anah Temple Shrine and the Waltham Volunteer Fire Department. Harvey and Lucille have enjoyed camping with their family at Roaring Brook on Molasses Pond for more than 40 years. Harvey will be remembered for all the helping hands he has given throughout his life. In addition to his wife of 52 years, Lucille (Hardison) Jordan of Waltham, he is survived by four sons, Harvey Mitchell Jordan and his wife, Debbie, Gary Michael Jordan and his fiance, Vicki Workman, Joseph Alan Jordan and his wife, Mary, and Kenneth Dean Jordan and his wife, Diny; a daughter-in-law, Luann Jordan and her husband, Duane, all of Waltham; 16 grandchildren who will greatly miss their “Papa,” Michael Jordan and his wife, Lisa, of Monmouth, Tina Buteau and her husband, Jamie, of Hancock, Karen Jordan of Ellsworth, Travis and Shane Jordan of Eastbrook, Andrea and Chadd Jordan, lan, Alec, and Morgan Jordan, April Salsbury and her husband, Jason, and Brian Jordan II, Andrea and Renee Workman, all of Waltham, Tony and Adam Jordan of Surry; five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Rebecca and Katie Jordan of Monmouth and Ryan and Jordan Buteau of Hancock; three sisters, Mary Ernestine Flynn and her husband, Edward, of Rumford Center, Madalyn Jordan of Waltham, and Gloria Johnson, a full time RVer; five brothers, Thomas Jordan Sr. and his wife, Sandra, of Waltham, Philip Jordan and his wife, Joan, of Frankfort, Marshall Jordan and his wife, Patsy, of Waltham, Dale Jordan of Eastbrook, and James Jordan and his wife, Carol, of Ellsworth; a brother-in-law, Alton Wilcox of Spring Hill, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Helen Jordan-Lymburner and her husband, Del Lymburner, of Waltham; many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Brian Marshall Jordan I; a sister, Pauline Wilcox; and a brother, Russell Jordan. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a Masonic Service will be held 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at Jordan-Fernald with Pastor Gerry Dill officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Waltham.
