PROSPECT HARBOR – Mark Edwin John Heilman III died April 23, 2006, in the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital at age 94. “Ed” Heilman was born in Jan. 19, 1912, in Phoenixville, Pa. He served eight years in the Army Air Corps during World War II attaining rank of Captain. He was a graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy. He attended North Carolina State University, graduating with a degree in Textile Engineering. He worked with various synthetic fiber companies retiring as vice president of marketing of Firestone Synthetic Fibers Company. He was a member of the Air Force Association. He also was a member of the Corea Baptist Church in Corea. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Burdick) Heilman of Prospect Harbor; two sons, Dr. Mark Heilman of Orange Park, Fla. and Dr. Lloyd Heilman of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a granddaughter, Gretchen Heilman Hall of Jacksonville, Fla. and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
