ORRINGTON – Hazel I. Wardwell, 77, died Nov. 11, 2005, at an Orono healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Winterport, the daughter of Charles and Hildred (Hathaway) Homstead. Hazel enjoyed gardening, crafts, fishing, was a lover of all animals and most of all being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Francis “Rokie” Wardwell; two sons and their wives, Dana and Sherry Wardwell and Brian and Edith Wardwell; one daughter and her husband, Karen and Bruce Newcomb, all of Orrington; four grandchildren, Lynn, Nathan, Sarah and Brian Jr. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her infant daughter.
