DOVER-FOXCROFT and BRADENTON, Fla. – Hazel R. (Bryant) Stanchfield, 82, passed away Sept. 17, 2004, at her daughter’s home in Bradenton, Fla., after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 26, 1922, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Ernest Bryant and Edith (Kirkpatrick) Bryant. She was a graduate of Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1940. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Omar L. Stanchfield on Oct. 17, 2003; her twin sister, Helen Bryant and her sisters, Dorothy Berry, Thelma Moulton and Kathryn Fuller; her niece, Marlene Pepin. Hazel is survived by her sister, Audrey Edgerly; son, Harold Stanchfield; daughters, Bari Reali and Sharon Emery; stepdaughter, Beverly Jean Bishop; daughter-in-law, Pat Stanchfield; son-in-law, Vince Reali; grandchildren, Sean Emery, Wendy Bennett, John Walker, Michael Kwiatkowski, Thomas Stanchfield and Tara Stanchfield; great-grandchildren, Robert Bennett, Brittnie Bennett, Meagan Emery, Johnathan Emery and Caden Kwiatkowski; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hill; nephews, Aubrey “Bud” Philpot, William Edgerly and Ernest Edgerly. “Haze” was a good, kind lady with a wonderful sense of humor – which she has, most likely, carried with her into God’s kingdom. If there is any basketball going on up there, she’s right in the middle of it! There will be an empty place in the hearts of many whose lives were touched by Hazel, along with rejoicing that she is now without pain and at home with our Lord. She will be remembered with love and a smile. A candlelight service was held for Hazel at her daughter’s home in Bradenton, Fla. Donations in memory of Hazel Stanchfield may be sent to Hospice of Southwest Florida, Manatee Branch 3355 26th Street, Bradenton, FL 34205.
