BREWER – Helen Barker (Thurlow) Geikie, passed away peacefully Feb. 28, 2008, in Bar Harbor. She was born April 9, 1915, in Burlington, the daughter of Jerome and Mary (Barker) Thurlow. We will remember her warm smile, her quiet strength and manner, the twinkle in her eye and her loving acceptance of all. She will be greatly missed by her family, daughter, Mary Rand of Brewer; son, E. Duncan Geikie and wife, Kay-Sue, of Jaffrey, N.H.; daughter, Bonnie Fox of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; daughter, Helen Meyer and husband, Peter, of Lamoine; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grand-children. She was predeceased by her husband, James Duncan Geikie, in 1951. The family wishes to thank the staff at Birch Bay Village for the loving care they extended Helen over the past few years. A special memorial service will be held at a later date, with interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
