HELEN (GOULD) TROMBLEY PRESQUE ISLE – Helen (Gould) Trombley, 85, died Oct. 27, 2003, after a long illness at the Aroostook Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Caribou, the daughter of Fay and Rose (Theriault) Gould. She graduated from Aroostook State Teachers College in 1936. She assisted her husband Roy in operations of several family businesses from 1937 until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of the Red Cross, involved in 4H with her children and an avid bridge player, reader, seamstress, bowler and crafter who loved to travel and garden in her flower beds. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Roy Trombley of Presque Isle; three daughters, Geraldine Dorsey of Orrington, Marilyn “Lynne” Walton and her husband, Carroll, of Presque Isle, Paula Leavitt and her husband, David, of Troy; one son, Alan Trombley and his wife, Becky, of Chapman; and a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Trombley of Presque Isle; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Blanche Kersey of Troy, Gloria Spear of Thomaston and Avis Abbott of Idaho; two brothers, Nathaniel Gould of Plant City, Fla., and Gary Gould of Ansonia, Conn.; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Trombley in 1994; a brother, Clifford Gould; sister, Ruth Smith; and a great-grandson, Benjamin Walton. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Friends and relatives may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Scott Mower celebrant.
