CAVENDISH, Vt. – Helen Harriman Holland, wife of the late Robert P. Holland, died on May 12, 2005, in Cavendish, Vt., after a short illness. She was born Oct. 14, 1914, in Cherryfield, the daughter of John and Mary (Delano) Harriman. Mrs. Holland was educated at Cherryfield Academy, the College of Saint Elizabeth and the Universities of Maine, New Hampshire and Boston. Before her marriage to Mr. Holland in 1953 at Manchester, Vt., she taught social science at high schools in Maine, Connecticut and Massachusetts. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and is a colonel in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. She is survived by one brother, John Philip Harriman of Cherryfield; several cousins, as well as one stepdaughter, and seven stepgrandchildren. Burial will be private with no calling hours.
