MEDWAY and EAST MILLINOCKET – Helen “Josie” Josephine (Thompson) Jones, 82 years 9 months, went home to be with the Lord to be reunited with her parents, Byron and Ruby Thompson and others of her family, Oct. 18, 2004, at a Lincoln hospital. Josie served as assistant superintendent of the Bible School at the East Millinocket Church of the Nazarene, where she also served as secretary-treasurer. She had a great and wonderful faith and she dearly loved the church. She is survived by her husband of 61 1/2 years, Raymond Jones; sisters, Isabell and her husband, George Walsh, of Hermon and Ersul Chasse of Millinocket; brothers, Byron Thompson and his wife, Melissa, of Ontario, Canada and Wallace Thompson of Bellingham, Wash.; grandsons, Graylin Jones and his wife, Arlene; and great-grandchildren, Joseph and Clarisa of Granite Falls, Wash.; and Russell Schneider and his wife, Mindy and great-granddaughter, Sydnee of Layton, Utah; brothers-in-law, Edward Jones and his wife, Virginia, of Medway and Albert Jones of Lenoir, N.C.; many, many nieces, nephews and loving friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Edith and her husband, Donald “Duke” Schneider; and granddaughter, Jolene; sisters, Gladys Davis, Eula Thompson and Celia Powers; and brothers, Ronald, Rubin, Hilton, Norman, Leslie and Nolan Thompson. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the East Millinocket Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Allen Archer officiating. Interment will be in Grindstone Road Cemetery, Medway.
