BREWER – Helen L. Rogers, 76, wife of the late Donald A. Rogers, passed away peacefully Nov. 27, 2005, surrounded by her family, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born May 26, 1929, in Heilwood, Pa., the daughter of the late Anna Lutsko and Joseph Lipto. Helen was predeceased by brothers, Larry, Joseph “Shorty,” Edward, Robert and William; sisters, Peggy, Judy, and Margaret; and very special sisters-in-law, Jean Rogers, Gladys Rogers and Mary Rogers. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Savoy and husband, Thomas, of Brewer; sons, Donald and Gary of Brewer and Miami, Fla.; granddaughter, Jana Laseke and husband, Gary Berkowitz, of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Chuck, Allen, James, Randy, Ricky and Gary; sisters, Joanne, Jean, Darlene, Carol, Marilyn and Karen; brother-in-law, Gerald Rogers; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Veronica Nagy and Kathy Navin; and beloved pets, Puggins and Miki. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Eastern Maine Medical Center for their generous support. Helen will be remembered for being one of the most kind, considerate, caring and selfless individuals to have graced this earth and will be sadly missed by her children, extended family, friends and others who knew her. Interment will be at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, next to her loving husband of 53 years. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Brookings-Smith, Bangor.
