ALBANY, N.Y. – Helen R. Smart, LPN, 79, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at St. Peters Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Sangerville and resided in Dover-Foxcroft, until 1985, when she moved to Bethlehem, N.Y. She is survived by three children, Jean Kangas and husband, Dale, of Negaunee, Mich., Elwin Smart and wife, Bonnie, of Hartland and William Smart and wife, Julia, of Guilderland, N.Y.; five grandchildren and seven great-grand-children; a brother, Donald Grant of Dover-Foxcroft; a sister, Pearl Higgins of Sanford; many nieces and nephews. Helen was a wonderful mother, grandmother and fri-end. She will be dearly missed by her loving family, friends and neighbors. Services will be private.
