LAKELAND, Fla. – Mrs. Helena Anderson, formerly of Brewer, died of congestive heart failure on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla. She was 92 years old. Born March 23, 1912, in Mexico, Maine, she came to Lakeland, Fla., from Brewer in 1989. She was an elementary school teacher for 20 years in Brewer, and a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa educational sorority. She was a member of the Maine State Retired Teachers Association and earned her BS degree from the University of Maine in Orono. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brewer, and attended Lakeland Vineyard Church in Lakeland. Mrs. Anderson was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Linwood Anderson; and her baby daughter, Faylene. She is survived by her son, James Anderson of New Bedford, Mass.; two daughters, Sharon Ludden of Lakeland, Fla., and Rita Germaine of Restigouche, Quebec; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2004, at Lakeland Vineyard Church. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery in Brewer.
