BELFAST – Henry J. Cook Jr., died at a Belfast health-care facility, Aug. 26, 2004. He was born at Warwick, R.I., April 7, 1930, the son of Henry and Mary (Tifferny) Cook. Henry attended the University of Rhode Island, where he majored in Animal Science obtaining his B.S. in 1952 and his M.S. in 1957. He served two years in the Army from 1952- 1954. In 1959, he moved to Maine as Assistant County Agricultural Agent. In 1987, he retired as the Area Dairy Specialist with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Service. Henry is survived by his wife, Bernice (Littlefield) Cook of Swanville; his sister, Melva Hamel of Warwick R.I.; a brother, Clifford Cook and wife of St. Augustine Fla. He also has three nieces, Tracy, Corrine and Lenore; two nephews, Jerry and Michael. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jackie and Florence. At Henry’s wish there will be no funeral service.
