BANGOR – Herbert Nicholas “Bill” Clark, 73, died unexpectedly, Feb. 17, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 1, 1931, in Bangor the son of Herbert and Marguerite (Perkins) Clark. He was a graduate of Bangor High School. Bill worked 40 years for Maine Central Railroad, as an electrician, retiring in 1987. Bill and Patricia (Harris) Clark, the love of his life and best friend, were married for 57 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Bangor; a son, Larry W. and his wife, Diane, of Pittsfield; an estranged daughter; a granddaughter and a grandson; four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Michael; two very special great-granddaughters, the loves of his life, Jessica and Michelle; two sisters, Mary Ryan, Janeen Oles, both of Bangor; three brothers-in-law, Ernest W. Harris of Connecticut, James Harris and his wife, Julie, of Hermon, William F. Roberts of Brewer; stepgrandchildren, Craig Saunders and his wife, Heidi, of Brunswick, Johnica and her husband, Nicholas Frank, of Somerville; grandson, Wayne Saunders Jr. of St. Albans; an aunt, Helen Boyle of Bangor; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Jeanne Roberts; his brother, Raymond “Buster” Clark; and brothers-in-law, Donald Ryan and Thomas Oles. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, immediately following the service. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the interment.
