CALAIS – Holly passed away Feb. 18, 2005, after a long illness. Holly was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Lubec, to Mary Elizabeth (Lawrence) and Edward Milo Haskins. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Edward Milo Jr. Holly will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 53 years, M. Gloria (LeBlanc) and his children, Debra Marie Ames, Calais, Edward Milo III, Bangor, Melvin Eugene, Levant, Bryant Fredrick, Corinth, Mary Elizabeth Welch of North Bend, Ore. and Holly Ann Munson, Hereford, Ariz., and all their wives and husbands. Also missing Grampy/Papa are his 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Holly leaves behind his brother, Robert Haskins of Calais; his sister, Marjorie Hill of Bangor; and uncle, Bill Haskins of Eastport. Holly served as a medic in the Army Air Corps, and he was involved with many organizations during his life. He was a Commander of Sherman Bros. American Legion No. 3 of Calais and 6th District Commander, Washington County Council American Legion. He was also a member of the 40/8, Calais Lions Club, and the Eagles Club in Brewer. Holly worked as an oil burner technician for Doyle and Carter of Brewer for many years, and was manager of Border Bowling Lanes in Calais. He loved his wife and family, fishing, “hunting,” poker, snowmobiling, bowling, softball, and his camp on Beaver Lake. Holly will be cremated. Please join us in a Memorial Mass officiated by Father Mark Nolette at the Immaculate Conception Church in Calais 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, and a celebration of his life in the church hall immediately following the Mass. There will be a spring interment at the Calais Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Jimmy Fund in Holly’s name.
