FRANKFORT – Herbert Reginald Smith, 89, passed away June 20, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 20, 1914, in West Enfield, the son of Isaac and Rose (Cunningham) Smith. Herbert was a longtime Frankfort resident and attended the Lane School in Frankfort. He had worked for Ralph Staples Poultry Farm for 18 years. Herbert is survived by his son, Frederick H. Smith Sr. and his wife, Linda, of Frankfort; a daughter, Judy Coleman of Bangor; one sister, Evelyn McDonough of Waterville; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery, Monroe, with Pastor Donald Campbell of Nealley’s Corner Church officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
