FORT KENT and BATH Hilda G. Prest, 87, died Jan. 18, 2008, at a Fort Kent hospital. She was born May 27, 1920, in Wallagrass, the daughter of Adolphe and Leidy (Deprey) Gagnon. She worked as a school cafeteria supervisor in Brunswick for 10 years and moved to Fort Kent after the passing of her husband in 1998. She was a member of the Northern Maine Medical Center Hospital Guild and Fort Kent Senior Citizen Club. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Delafosse and her husband, Ernest “Sonny,” of Lanexa, Va.; four sisters, Jean Smart and Hernelle Pelletier, both of Fort Kent, Esther Bowman of Rainbow City, Ala., and Barbara Castleberry of Weatherford, Texas; three brothers, Adolph “June” Gagnon Jr. of Fort Kent, Donald Gagnon of Frenchville and Reynold Gagnon of Farm-ington, Conn.; one grandson, David and his wife, Shannon; one great-granddaughter, Katie; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Prest in 1998; and two brothers, Stanley and Arthur Gagnon. Friends may call 9:30 a.m. until time of services Monday, Jan. 21, at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bath.
